The Sky shopping and entertainment center's interior design will be like "Heaven" and Out-of-the-Box

UNK Group architects have completed work to prepare the interior design of the Sky Shopping and Entertainment Center in Solntsevo, one of the largest retail projects scheduled for commissioning this year. The public spaces will be designed in such a way as to transform the shopping center into a true work of art.

The Sky Shopping and Entertainment Centre is a full-fledged family shopping and entertainment complex located in the heart of the residential complex, within walking distance of the Solntsevo metro station. A new 53.5 thousand square meter project will feature a state-of-the-art mix of retail, entertainment, food, and a variety of household services. The new project is scheduled to be launched in Q4 2021.

As the name of the shopping center suggests, the interior design concept is based on the theme of heaven and sunlight in all of its manifestations that can be traced in one way or another everywhere in the building. The atrium is dominated by a bizarre cloud that appears to be „stuck” in the building's center. The food court area features a sunny forest meadow with a sunshower and golden rays of light penetrating through the trees. If you drive a car you can park it in the "sunrise" or "sunset" zone. The façade's illumination at night will symbolise the sunset as well. With panoramic glass walls, the food court will create an appropriate atmosphere on the adjoining territory, which will become the focal point for the entire residential community.

All of the design solutions will be implemented solely through the selection of lighting. The shopping gallery's neutral design, which allows visitors to concentrate entirely on shopping, will be followed by a true light performance in all public areas and adjacent territory.

As a result, the shopping center will be a work of light art that will not only serve as a decorative element for Solntsevo but will also become of great economic benefit for the Shopping and Entertainment Centre's developer and tenants.

“Today, the interior design of the shopping centers is not only about aesthetics. In today's market conditions, the interior is just as responsible for the financial success of a project as the location or the tenant pool," says Yulia Tryaskina, partner at UNK Group and head of the Sky Shopping Center's interior design team. “For instance, a well-designed interior space encourages shoppers to spend more time in the retail space, while an attractive design of the entrance areas and their visual accessibility from the street ensure an inflow of spontaneous visitors. A project's interior should also be consistent with its overall concept; it should support the main idea while also serving as a design code for all tenants to stick to.”

Surely, the Sky Shopping and Entertainment Center is not the first shopping and entertainment project that the UNK Group have completed. The architects have designed the interiors of the Central Children's Store in Lubyanka, Luzhniki Aquatics Palace, Grad City Park (Voronezh),Mayak Shopping and Entertainment Center (Dubna), Atlas Shopping Centere (Odintsovo), Globus Gourmet grocery chain, Porcelain House boutique chain and many others.
