Well-known “Central Children's shop" has been opened

On March 31, 2015 the grand opening of “Central Children's shop in Lubyanka" took place. The biggest in the world children’s shop (73 thousand sq. m) opened the doors for Muscovites and guests of the capital.
The opening ceremony was visited by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin and the President – the Chairman of the board of VTB Bank Andrey  Kostin.
The Gals-Development company finished all works on reconstruction and the adaptation of the building to modern use. The building of children's shop in Lubyanka, built in 1957, is an object of cultural heritage of regional value. During the work, town-planning characteristics of the building, graded elevation, silhouette, volume and spatial structure, composition, architectural appearance of facades and historical function of the building were kept.
The general designer - "Mosproject-2" of M. V. Posokhin, workshop No. 14, the design project of interiors is developed with the assistance of architectural bureau UNK project.
According to original project of the architect A.N. Dushkin valuable architectural elements were reconstructed: the three-span recessed balcony  located from Lubyansky facade which was lost in the1980s; original ceramic tile, a granite plinth wall on a facade and window openings. Historical elements of an interior were restored: 100 marble rail-posts in an atrium protection, oak doors of the entrance groups and 8 unique bronze floor lamps installed in an atrium.
