The UNK Group architects have developed an interior design for the Moscow branch of the National Drama Theatre of Russia (Alexandrinsky Theatre). Project creators claim in a press release that the renovated space will become a contemporary, multifunctional cultural space.

The main auditorium for 650 people will be located in the theatre building, which spans over 30,000 square metres. The Moscow stage must be equipped to accommodate productions of varying degrees of complexity and genre diversity, according to the announcement.

The original academic theatre-style design of the premises necessitated a complete renovation of the stage complex and public areas. The existing space has been enhanced with innovative technology, including the addition of a transformer stage.

The main three-level foyer with an open staircase and elevators will be finished with perforated panels. Its focal point will be the large hall wall adorned with intricate radius-shaped lamellae crafted from translucent artificial stone and equipped with integrated interactive lighting and a multimedia projection system. The foyer can be transformed into a space for experimental and innovative productions, serve as an exhibition space, or a creative activity space. The theatre's media room will be renovated to accommodate multimedia performances and exhibitions, as well as a recording and video editing studio, as well as lounge and dressing rooms.

The Alexandrinsky Theater is Russia's oldest national theatre. It was established on 30 August 1756 by Senate’s decree. Its primary stage is located in Saint Petersburg. The Moscow branch of the Alexandrinsky Theater is situated near the Kolomenskaya metro station, at the intersection of Nagatinskaya Street and Andropov Avenue.
